This month’s Symposium game is Android: Netrunner. We’ve been talking about immersion a lot recently; two-player multiplayer games focus on immersion in a different way from any other games, and Netrunner‘s deckbuilding takes immersion beyond the scope of single matches.
None of which is the reason why I chose Netrunner as this month’s Symposium game – I just want to play it as much as possible, and I figured this would be an excuse to shoehorn it in. So: I imagine we’ll spend a fair amount of time talking, but I’m also pretty sure we’ll have at least one game going on, and hopefully more. We’ll try playing it online using OCTGN; here are instructions for installing Android: Netrunner on OCTGN.
We’ll meet on Thursday, June 6th at 9:30pm EDT / 6:30pm PDT. Voice chat over Mumble, the server is mumble.vghvi.org port 6662, let me know if you need the password. Once we see who is there, we can try to get a game or two started. (And certainly people who just want to talk and not play are more than welcome.)
