Symposium: Android: Netrunner, June 6, 2013

Netrunner: Chaos TheoryThis month’s Symposium game is Android: Netrunner. We’ve been talking about immersion a lot recently; two-player multiplayer games focus on immersion in a different way from any other games, and Netrunner‘s deckbuilding takes immersion beyond the scope of single matches.

None of which is the reason why I chose Netrunner as this month’s Symposium game – I just want to play it as much as possible, and I figured this would be an excuse to shoehorn it in. So: I imagine we’ll spend a fair amount of time talking, but I’m also pretty sure we’ll have at least one game going on, and hopefully more. We’ll try playing it online using OCTGN; here are instructions for installing Android: Netrunner on OCTGN.

We’ll meet on Thursday, June 6th at 9:30pm EDT / 6:30pm PDT. Voice chat over Mumble, the server is port 6662, let me know if you need the password. Once we see who is there, we can try to get a game or two started. (And certainly people who just want to talk and not play are more than welcome.)
