The first game that we played together was Burnout Paradise; if my notes are accurate, we’ve played it 11 times, but we haven’t played it at all for two years. Which is a shame, and it’s time to return to the game!
Anybody have an opinion about what DLC to get, if any? I’m thinking it might be nice to give Cops & Robbers a try, but I don’t have a strong opinion about that if other people aren’t into that. And I’m a big fan of Big Surf Island – it’s actually what caused the game to click for me – though I don’t feel particularly strongly that I need to experience that again in a multiplayer mode. (Whereas Cops & Robbers is multiplayer only.) Or we could just play the core game. Also, make sure that you’ve gotten the free Burnout Paradise 1.9 DLC – you won’t be able to play with us without that, and it’s 1.2GB of content, so it can take a while to download.
We’ll meet at 9:30 EST / 6:30 PST on Thursday, December 13th on Xbox Live. Send a friends request to “malvasia bianca” if you’re not already on my list. See you then!
I’d buy Cops & Robbers if there’s interest in it, but I don’t think it’s likely to pay off, especially if we wind up with an odd number of players. If we end up getting into Need For Speed: Most Wanted (which I strongly recommend) then this could be the last time we play this game. With that in mind, I think we might want to go with something closer to the “core” experience.
Let’s see whether Dan wants to get Cops & Robbers, then. (I think it’s $5, for what that’s worth.) It looks like there’s a good chance that we’ll have four players, so the odd number shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Certainly your point about going with the core experience makes sense; and good to know about Need for Speed: Most Wanted. (Hmm, which Amazon is selling for only $40 as I type this…)
