The thing in this one is an attempt to understand Csiksentmihalyian flow as a description of a certain kind of fluid identification. In turn, this fluid identification is perhaps a better way to describe the range of immersive practices than as flow.
We think the approach shows a little promise; I’ll update the aphorisms with an attempt at a distillation soon.
Next month’s symposium will continue in the same vein, I think. Preliminary question, after what I thought was a really productive session at GLS: what does boundary-maintenance (a proposed re-construction of the “magic circle”) have to do with this fluid identification?
On this episode: David Carlton, Dan Cox, Patrick Holleman, and Roger Travis.
