Gaming Session: Terraria, July 14, 2011

Since we spend so much time playing Minecraft, we figured we should give Terraria a try, so we’re playing that game this Thursday.

We hadn’t talked explicitly about whether we should play single player or multiplayer.  (I actually didn’t realize that it had a multiplayer mode until I started doing research for this post!) Multiplayer would, I suppose, be the most natural choice, but I don’t have a server available for use for that.  Does anybody else feel like hosting? (For the technologically inclined, you could even spin up a Windows server in EC2…) If not, we’ll play single player.

As far as I’m concerned, conversation could be either over Vent or Skype; we’ve been doing Vent for our recent non-console games, so I assume the default is to continue with that, but if anybody wants to start an anti-Vent rebellion in the comment thread, I’d be happy to join in. If you don’t have our Vent contact info, leave a note in the comments and I’ll e-mail it to you.

I would very much like to try multiplayer, but I don’t know anything at all about hosting. Anybody else?
